Ever have one of those friends that you knew well when growing up, then your paths go in different directions when you're older, but whenever you see each other again, you can pick right back up and talk for hours? That's Mary and I. She moved to South Carolina and in September she married Richard and I had the privilege of photographing their wedding. And what a gorgeous bride she was!!
It was going to be a perfect day. Warm sunshine, beautiful subjects, so much love and goodness of God. Maybe I was too confident or forgot to focus enough on God that morning, but nonetheless, one of my worst photographer moments happened that morning. Upon arrival, I attached the lens I wanted to shoot with, but discovered something had come loose between the camera and lens and I was unable to take a picture. But neither would it let me take the lens back off because the piece was stuck right there. I desperately started praying and switched cameras with my 2nd shooter so that I could keep on schedule, and she worked on it for 40 minutes. By then she was trying to call camera shops but of course they don't open early. She brought the camera back to me and said she'd given up. I told her to try a little bit longer and again I prayed and suddenly, just like that, it came apart and we were able to fix the problem. Wow. Thank you, God!! And then... the groomsmen arrived and brought with them their golf clubs and lots of great humor and the stress vanished and the rest of the day was amazing! :)
Mary is so creative and the wedding was full of cute details. The beautiful bouquets were done by the talented Gloria Nisly.
I love y'all too! xoxo
